4-Wheel Drive Problems

Hello,
I own a 87 bronco II, 4x4, 2.9 engine. The problem I am having is engaging the 4x4. Every time I press the overhead 4x4/low range buton, it only gives me a series of 3 clicks but no 4x4 indication on dash lights. I have cleaned and tried two shift motors on it. I have also replaced actual tc with a used one 1 mth ago. Last tc was shot inside. Transmission and tc fluids are to requirements. I checked fuse panels and tested shift module by unpluging two output harnesses and leaving pig-tailed which gave me a solid light lasing a few second. What I did notice was that when I would remove and hold shift motor in my hand and push 4x4, I could feel the motor budge internally but would not turn. Both motors gave me the same response. Although, when I would test with battery, these suckers turned as new. I am not sure exactly what is going on. Please help me! Thanks

Have you seen the links I have in the tech info thread at the top of this forum on the T-case and the module?
