truck toolbox help needed

Hey all. This is going to seem like a real dumb question but i just wanna do things the right way.

Anyways, I just picked up a new truck toobox which is a factory second for cheap (i think anyways-45 bucks USD). It's got one dent and some scratches.

I just want to know what i'm supposed to mount it with; large sheet metal screws or nuts and bolts. It didn't come with any instructions or hardware.

I would say it depends on the crime level in your area. 1/4" bolts would be a good choice.

Definately use bolts, they are a little more of a pain to install with bolts, but sheet metal screws will rip out easily. Bolts and washers won't.

For sure use some quality bolts. If you ever get on your side that sucker could go flyin through someones windshield. It might anyway but it sure would with sheet metal screws.

Good call!!! Jeez, I've never thought of the possibility that it could go flying in a accident. Just too worried about theft.

If its one of the aluminum/metal ones get some rubber strips to but between it and the bed so you don't scratch up your paint. Also make sure you use washers on the bolts, helps hold it down better.
