Rag joint replacment

Hey guys, have a question for ya. I'm replacing the rag joint on my '70 F100 (power steering) and Im at a bit of an impass. I've got the column out, got what was left of the old joint off there, and fixed, the new joint is on the column, but I cant seem to figure out how to get the saftey pins out of the box side of the coupler. They are loose, they spin, but I can't seem to figure out how they are attached to the coupler, to get them out. Any ideas?

Thanks,
-Pat

Just incase anyone else is interested, the pins on the flange, that are on the box side, are slid through the flange, and peened over on the edges to prevent removal. So... I ended up grinding them down flat, knocking them out, and putting new ones in. Works great now.

Eh, wasn't so bad really. It was worse when I was trying to do it with the box flange still on the box. The joint was so bad, I just pulled the column right out without unbolting the joint.

Not to mention trying to be gentile with everything... parts were alot easier to come by when I lived out your way in Kearney, than they are here outside philly.
