http://broncograveyard.com/products/cat/18/120/23610 I got these for my 79 f 150 4x4 and no more wheel hop at all. I went with them cuz i found other people that used them and no one said nothing bad about them. There are heavier duty ones out there but i didnt have much to spend on them. Easy to install just drill a few holes if i remember correctly.
Many times the cause of most of the hopping is worn out (cracked/broken) springs and bushings. Just getting your springs repaired will often take care of the problem and it is something that will need to be done anyway. Save your money...
Most 4x4 shops can build you some custom ladder bars. Cost about $250-300. After seeing the new product from broncograveyard... Seems like they are a better deal. Plus they won't affect the articulation of the axle.
I am running skyjacker traction bars on my 79 F-150 shortbox. Got them from Rockymountain Suspension. Worked great with the stock 351M/4:11 and later with the swapped 460 and the 4:56 gears. L&L seems to have a good set of ladder bars but they might be pricey. A good shop can make you a set for not too much. Bronco Graveyard has a set marked as Superlift track bars. that dont impose any clearance problems and do really well also.
