Question Power Steering

I went to the local junk yard, and asked them for a power steering pump, they asked me if i had the metal or plastic one, i told them i was not sure, but they said all that they had was platic anyway, so i told them to go ahead and pull it, i have a 79 F-150 ranger, with a 351m and C-6 tranny, is there a difference in the pumps and most likely which one would i have, also, i am curious as to where there might be a sales brochure or something equivalent here on-line, i love to look at them on stuff that i own!!

That will be a plastic pump.

The other type is a (ham can) shaped like the GM pump.

Brochures don't have things like that in them.

You're in luck though.
This guy has a 79 brochure online.

If you are keeping the truck for a while, may I suggest purchasing a CDrom version of the original Ford shop from motorhaven.

It includes the original sale brochure.

F type transmission fluid.

Turn the steering wheel lock to lock until all the air is out.
