I have a toshiba laptop with windows XP and I have an external hardrive that I connect to it occasionally. My problem is that the external hardrive usually registers as an E: drive but now it has changed to an F: drive. This wouldnt be a problem but I have an Ipod and now Itunes cant find any of my music that is on the external drive. I could manually change everything within Itunes but that would take hours. How can I change the drive back to E: or what else can I do so that Itunes will find my music.
Thanks
What have you done lately....like right after the last time it was correct? Windows OFTEN reassigns drive letters when something else takes precedence...like a flash drive. There is a setting in the properties for the drive where you can SET this letter assignment....when i get home, ill see what i can find for details.
Right click My Computer | Manage | Storage | Disk Management
There you can locate your devices and re-assign drive letters. Might have to assign first device to a different drive letter first, in order to get access to the E drive.
Should also remember those settings the next time you plug them in (should, not 100% sure though)
