Been fighting with a new Griffin HP since October. Well took 10 weeks to get it and once installed leaked. Sent it back supposedly was fixed. Got it back two weeks later and leaked in the same spot again. So sent it back for a refund. Looking around at other radiators for a 55 F100 w/351C slightly hot w/c4 auto. Currently looking at Mid fifties, 4 row with polished tank and a company in Missourri called Portells. Anyone got any favorites they are willing to share? Don't want to wait another two months.
If your fighting a hot engine problem.. Id 1st add a Aux Tranny cooler and a aux engine oil cooler.. this will greatly help keep things cooler inside the engine and tranny.. Plus if U do a aux engine oil cooler you can also add a remote oil filter to make its much easier for oil changes..
We have been using a Mid-Fifties radiator for several years with a warmed over 351W out of a 69 Cougar. It fits and works great even without a fan shroud....Will stay cool in the desert part of this state...
you dont need a griffin although they look great . US Radiator desert cooler (mid fifties) a lincoln fan (electric) and controler from dccontrol will cool just about anything you can stuff in their !!!
I have a aluminum radiator and the lower hose will not stop leaking , new radiator and hose. I try sealing the hose and double clamp the hose .it just keeps leaking I took the radiator back it check out ok and put a other new hose still leaks.

Reason: wrong
Howe Racing has an inexpensive radiator available through Summit.I have one in my 70 Mustang.
In my 55, I have an aluminum core/plastic tank unit from a 2001 Explorer.
Both work great.
I have a US Radiator desert cooler. It's a 4-row radiator. I bought it from US Radiator years ago, and got it fairly quick. Compare the prices with Mid-Fifty if you like. But if you are looking to get the parts quick, I would avoid Mid-Fifty, every experience has been a slow experience for me... They wrap stuff good, but they also charge too much for shipping (10% of the order total last time I ordered).
