Talking Mpg Report

Well' I just filled my tank and show 17.3 mpg for the tank. This is in my 03, 7.3 PSD, F350,DRW,4WD,CC, 410 REAR END, AUTOMATIC, with Super Chips set on level 3, ccv mod, AFE Stage II air induction and keeping it at or under 2000 rpms.Well, I had three 0 to 60 blast but dropped back to 2000 rpms afterward. I read somewhere on another thread that it was hard to keep under 2000 with the Super Chips when the trans shifts up. This is true, but after 40mph you can lean on it some without down shifting. I also used a fuel additive, Kleen.
Very happy with the results this week. I can't wait until I buy the 5" exhaust. My goal here is 18mpg........the HP that comes with it is just an extra. LOL.

That's some good numbers. How fast are you going at 2000 rpm?

63 to 64 mph. I have gone back to using I95 to Jacksonville each day but it's not that bad, I just stay in the right lane of the three and sometimes even pass some of those left lane magnet drivers.

I'll get 55 mph at 2000 rpm. Time to start saving for a US gear I think.

I was talking to a fellow camper who has the US Gear Aux tranny and loves it.
He uses it on his 250 to get him up over the big hills.Of course your going to go with 20% over i would imagine.
Just my .02 here.

Ive got a 2002 F350 PSD, DRW, CC but 2WD and I am running 70 MPH at 2000 with the 4.10 gear and automatic tranny. I just got home yesterday from a little shakedown cruise since I just got this truck I hate to put around and would rather run a little faster and get to the race track sooner than put at the speedlimit. I set the cruise up to 80 and I am pluggin right along at 80 with a 31 foot 5er behind me. Kinda flat and open here in South Carolina and I did have to downshift going up to the mountains toward Asheville on I26 but it pulled better than my V10 I had in my F250 but the mileage just wasn't as good as I had hoped..duhhhhhh...back to the 80mph thing again. Gonna do the CCV and Kwik mod this week and go with the upgraded tranny cooler and Synthetic fluid so it should help till I get the guages....According to the trip comp I was getting about 8.8 this way and that is a couple of MPG better than the gasser.

Good info hotwheel. I get 14.5 mpg at 75mph, and 13.9 at 81mph, haha. Gotta love/hate those 4.10 rears in these duallys. My boost at 80 mph ranges anywhere from 5.5 to 7.0 on the flats, at 60 mph, its at 2.3-3.0. Guess there is why the mpg goes in the tank after 2000 rpms.

I think that the fuel additive did a little for mine too. But my test was all empty. I am starting my test over again today.
