I know a guy that uses fuel conditioner on his old sled every year, and he doesnt drain the fuel, and it works for him. I still would drain it personally though.
I was on my way back from Oklahoma and Peoria Illinois picking up another Turbo Commander aircraft for the Government"s waterbomber fleet.
Weather in OK was 62 F and nice.
Flew back at 22,000 lounging in the back listening to Lynyrd Skynyrd all the way home. Saw a couple of older Fords in the south.
Sounds like a neat trip laynrubber, bet you wanted to stay longer. Did you do the flying? Oklahoma has nice weather most times of the year.
What/where were these southern old Fords? Probably very little if any rust.
I have had good luck with fuel conditioner. I put it in my gas cans every time I fill them for the small engine stuff and I put it in the vehicles that get parked for the winter. I usually try to get one tank full of fuel with the conditioner through the fuel system before they get parked and I haven't had any problems with gummed up parts for a long time
I was the passenger.
My pal down there has a sweet 57 long box, V8 auto. Saw a couple 48 to 52 body styles, some 67 68 Mustangs. Rust isn't the same problem down there for sure.
I'd move if i had employment there.
Fomoko, my bikes an '81 Suzuki GS650GL. SMall, but nice. A good starter bike. First bike ever and had it for 2 years now.
Can you imagine if rust wasn't a problem here!!!!!!! Hmmmmm....Drrrroooooooolllll!
