Temp Gauge and light prob
O.K. Here is one of my many issues LOL I bought this truck (1984 F250 4x4 6.9) from my neigbor. He said the temp gauge always worked for him. O.K> So it has not worked for me, and the engine temp light flickers all the time right from start. So today I replaced the temp switch and the gauge now comes up a little. To slightly over C. The engine temp light still flickers. Do I need to replace the Temp sending unit as well. I am at a loss.

Ivr will affect all gauges not any warning lights if there is a temp light and gauge there are two senders the one for the gauge is larger if you ground the wire to the sender it will make the gauge read high with the wire off disconnected it will read low. Light system will light the light if you ground the wire and turn the light off with the wire off. Hope that helps My guess is your IVR is fine if the fuel gauge is working
