Amsoil

Hey guys.

I recently bought a 2002 Explorer XLT with the 4.0 V6 and 4X4. I want to go to Amsoil for all my fluids but I'm not sure what to use in the engine, tranny, differentials and transfer case. What has worked well for you guys?

Hah! I didn some searching and some reading. You guys have some great topics here. I suppose now I will be called an "Amsoil dealer" because I have a low post count and asked about Amsoil.

<-- not an Amsoil dealer and have never bought their products in my life.

Thanks for thinking enough of our opinion to ask what we have had good luck with.

You will probably not get too many repsonses about specific experiences using Amsoil, but maybe I'll be wrong.

What has worked well for me?

Chevron or Havoline conventional 10w30 and 5w20.
4-5,000 mile drain intervals.

All other fluids? House brand or any name brand that meets OEM requirements.

This is been my practice for years in all my (and wife's) vehicles.

After 4-5 hundred K miles cummulative, no oil (or other lubricant) related failure.
