I just had Meineke install a Flowmaster 40 Series offset in/out 2.5" muffler with a 12" chrome tip. I will post sound clip later on this week. Very satisfied!
yes it is. The muffler cost me $79.99 and I paid the guy under the table to make the extra piece (since the Flowmaster is a lot smaller than OEM) to complete the exhaust. Also, they gave me a nice chrome tip (yes I know it will rust, but I will do my best to keep it from getting dirty). The sound is amazing. Not too loud and just the perfect tone. I love it. Total cost was about $150 and I recommend it to everyone!
P.s. Alternative was going no muffler, but the sound was not clean. It was loud and ballsy, but just get the muffler. YOu wont regret it

yeah thats what i was thinking but for some reason I couldn't get the image of one of those lil rice burners with the GREAT BIG HUGE exhaust stickin out of it out of my mind .
i would like 2 get the flow master, but i am thinking about the dyno-maxx super turbo, i know it wont sound that loud but i have had flow masters on all my cars and i think i need a change. thanks for the info on the pipe size. when i do get the exhaust done i will probably have it like the 2006 harley truck(maybe) thanks again!!!!
IS300....have you taken it for a drive such as an hour drive or so? i had a 40 series on my old 91 and the interior resonsance will begin to get a little annoying after a while, i changed to 50 series delta flow and was a little better best as i can remember. they also sound cool when you go over a bridge or somewhere that theres an enbankment so the sound will bounce back...i would roll down the right side window just to hear it...so cool...even sounded nice at idle...its just those long trips,, and the wife(or sigificant other) will be complaining probably....and i probably woke up the neighbors every morning! flowmasters are noted for there interior resonsance...i thinking about a magnaflow next time...BTW did you notice any improved engine responsiveness?.... my .02$ paul
paul i have the 40 series flowmaster SI/DO on my 04 and with the windows up and the radio at a low level you can't even hear the exhaust the cabs on these trucks are much more quiet than the old ones
