Question Stake Anchor choices

I went to buy stake hole anchors for my 93 Rangers and found that Pep Boys cares two types - a toggle bolt type and a rubber block type. I imagine the toggle bolt one would be more secure, but I need to be able to install and remove them easily, as they will only be used when putting my motorcycle in to go riding. The toogle bolts wounld be a pain in the butt to take out all the time. Does anyone have experience with the rubber block ones? I'm wondering if, after a while, the rubber block becomes harder to remove as a result of the block being compressed all the time.

Before I got a camper shell I had, well still have just not using currently some of ones that "slide" in and out. They bolt in and work really well. The drawback to them is the price however. I believe they are like $25 a set of 2. I just thought they looked better than the rubber block type. They close flush to the rails and have a really clean look.
These are the ones I have:

(The top ones on the list)

I have the toggle bolt type - they are easy to remove and reinstall.

Those retractable ones are pretty cool! If I didn't have the big chrome running bars (or whatever they're called) I'd pick those up!

RGBOT, I saw them at the store and think they would look great. If I didn't need to be able to qucikly and easily remove them I may go with them. My problem is that I use the truck w/o the cap for hauling my dirtbike, but need to put the cap on when going fishing to secure my gear. I want to be able to take out the anchors and have the cap on (working on system to make it a one man job) in less than 15 minutes. Time spent removing anchors is time I could be on the beach looking for fish.

You can actually leave them on with the cap, I just dont take my cap on and off much at all, maybe once a year if that. so I just took them out. But I did have them on with the cap on there. Save yourself more time by jus tleaving them in. My cap fit about the same with them on. The main reason I took them off is b/c my dad wanted to try them out. He then got some other ones as he liked the full chrome look better.
See, I just need to get a dirt bike so I can have an excuse to keep them in

What about the tie downs that are built into the bed? My 03 edge has some, does yours have some?

My bed doesn't have any ties down at all. I thought about just adding them, but decided not to drill holes in the bed since the fishing I do is on the beach and any unprotected metal will quickly rust. So you can put the cap right on top of the ones you have? That sounds nice.

Ya, I had them on for a while with the cap on still. I only really took them off so my Dad could use them, but like I said above he got some others, I may put them back on when I take the cap off next whenever that may be.

Understood on not wanting any exposed metal with the salt water, I can't say I blame you
