Defrost only

I jumped into the truck a short while ago and went to turn the vent on and no vent?(heat) it was just working but the only thing I do get is defrost. The floor and the vent floor does not work only the defrost even when I switch the selector to the other choices it stays on defrost? Has any one else had aproblem like this? and if so what was the problem?

I'm pretty sure I remember reading about this on here not too long ago. I believe they said it is a vacuum leak in the system that controls the door. If there is a vacuum leak it goes to the default setting of defrost so you can always clear your windows.

Here is one thread I just found.

https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/s...d.php?t=378133

Just click on search near the top right of your screen and search for defrost. You will come up with a bunch of threads on this.

There is a vacuum connection under the dash on the passenger side just above where the carpet stops. This connection can be knocked loose with your foot. Mine was loose and I had no max air. I have a 99 SD
Just a thought
