frame rail fuel pump

Can anyone tell me why the frame rail fuel pump would still hum after you shut off the motor and remove the key ? The only way to shut it off is to disconnect the battery . The truck is an 88 F250 351 motor , any help ?, any suggestions ?

Sounds like the Fuel Pump Relay Contacts are welded together. Replace Relay.

I'm not sure on an 88, look under the hood for a relay & fuse center.

The fuel pump relay is the green relay mounted to the back side of the air filter box.
