I got a 94 250 4X4 7.3L IDI with and E4OD transmission I have been wanting to put a 5 speed for a while now and I was wondering how difficult it is going to be? I dont know if my transfer case will fit, I will need a hydraulic clutch, a longer drive shaft, cut a hole in my floor board? Is there anything else that I will need to do that Im just not thinking about? And how difficult is swapping the two different transmissions. Thanks for all the help
I have the same truck and thought of doing the same when my tranny died.
There was a thread on the basic requirments a while back but don't remember much . As for me i decided to fix the auto and down the road buy
one with a 5 speed.
You will have a lot of work inside the truck.
Clutch pedal, hole in the floor for the shifter, column shifter removed, park/neutral interlock turned into clutch interlock, transfer case will fit the ZF5.
As far as driveshafts, they may be different.
