Extended Cab, when was 1st for Ford?

Does anyone know when Ford went into production with its first extended cab pick-up? I think it is somewhere mid 70s, but I can't seem to find any literature on it. No the crew cab though, the extended cab.

I'm 99 per-cent sure it was 1973-the Supercab model came out with the new body-style change.

1974 according to my dad. Mine is a 74 ranger xlt

1974 according to my dad. Mine is a 74 ranger xlt supercab. He says it is the first year for the supercab and that the truck is rare being a supercab ranger xlt with a automatic (that is the only thing I don't like about the truck)
