That is why mine is after the turbo, I run OTR trucks that when were mechanical fueled motors ate them on occassion, as well as some of our electronic motors. I also remember when cummins in the 70's (I believe) had everyone pull them from the manifold and put them in the downpipe because they "weren't as accurate" and tended to trash things when they came apart. Just food for thought.

i just put mine in the dp and it works great. i used to drive otr trucks and all the ones i drove had them in the dp, but all of those engines were the 3406e cats. after reading FTE forums on the subject was the first i've ever heard of them going in the manifold. i decided to stick with what i seen cat do. also i can't see where the temps would cool down that drasticaly to be a harm. i'm also running a diablo predater with the 60hp and don't see anything over 700* empty on the freeway.just my opinion.
