Need help identifying sensor on '94 5.8 lower intake!

I'm in the process of replacing my '95 5.0 with a '94 5.8 and using the wiring harness from the '95 5.0 because I'm reusing my stock mass air. I just discovered that the '94 5.8 has a sensor on the lower intake that my '95 5.0 doesn't have. I don't have a connector on my wiring harness for it. What is it???? Do I need it???

It is the air temperature sensor. The 95 mass air truck used an air temp sensor mounted in the air filter housing. You can leave the sensor in the manifold just to keep the hole plugged, and use the one in the air filter box. There should be provision on the wiring harness to plug in one there. The electrical plug will be a lot smaller than the one for the intake manifold mounted sensor.

Thanks.... that was quick. I was planning to replace the factory air box with a K&N FIPK. Should I remove the air temperature sensor from the factory air box and mount it in the FIPK?

The mass air truck I saw had the sensor mounted to a bracket next to the K&N. As long as it's close by the air filter, it should be fine. Doesn't necessarily have to be inside the fiilter.
