Thottle body coolant question
This may be a dumb question..... But what is the purpose of running coolant through the throttle body? Both my '94 5.8 and my '95 5.0 have a 3/8 inch coolant line running from the heater hose to the top of the throttle body and another hose running from the bottom of the throttle body to the tree on the lower manifold. The throttle body doesn't get hot, so it doesn't need to be cooled. Does the throttle body need the heat from the coolant?

It is important to note that it also does not really affect power by heating the intake air charge - as it doesn't really change the intake charge temp so there is no need to disable it...
