Lift kits for 2006 Ranger XLT 4WD
I just picked up my new 06 Ford Ranger 4wd, and I love it! 4.0L V6, 5 spd AT, gray metallic, and 4x4. YAH HOOO!
Anyway, Im lifting the truck. 2-3" Nothing big. I cant seem to find anyone but Trailmaster and Superlift that makes 4WD kits! Anyone know where I can get one?
Heres what Im thinking: I want to fit 32s with enough space for some flexing. It will see some offroading, but nothing extreme. I know I can crank up the torsion bars with a max of 2" right? So, I could crank up the front and then use 1" blocks on the rear? and 32s would fit?
Lastly, Ive noticed these on ebay, called index keys for the torsion bars.. HOW DO THEY WORK?
Thanks for the help.

i'm sure you have heard this before but i wouldn't crank the torsions. they probably really don't have anything for a '06 quiet yet but if all else fails, how a bout a body-lift. i got 33" tires under mine after installing my 3" lift! watch out what you do also, don't want to void the ole warranty!

Yeah, Ive taken the warranty into consideration.
I dont like body lifts: 1- I dont think they look good, 2-you dont get anymore travel out of the suspension.
Supposedly, the 2005 is the same as the 2006. This is what Ive been looking for. Ive read about a lot of people cranking up the torsion bars without problems. Why not do it? Added stress on the bars is the only reason I can see. I dont mind a stiffer ride.

Ok, its decided- Im cranking up the tbars. 2" is the MAXIMUM SAFE limit right?
Lastly, can someone please explain how the tbar keys/indexes work?
Thanks for all the posts. Heres a link to the Trailmaster, RCD and Superlift kits that I found. http://www.rockymountainsusp.com/fd4_Rgr98+.htm
According to what Ive read, the RCD lift kit converts the front suspension to a COILOVER setup. I believe 4wheelsupply also sells it.
