Other than having the sub woofer are the speakers the same between the $550 audiophile option and the $300 normal 6 disc changer option? With the subwoofer do you lose all the room under the back seat in a Supercrew? Is there any other storage room other than that? I wish Ford would offer the below bed tool box like the did in the 60's and like Nissan does now.
The speakers are better ... Boston Acoustics I believe ... maybe. The head unit may be better as well. I'm not really sure. You lose storage area from 60% of the rear seat. The jack takes up the rest. There's no other storage room. Many buy various toolboxes for the bed. And, yes, the under-bed storage area on that Honda Ridgeline is VERY nice. I'm not familiar with the Nissan.
Nope no Boston Acoustics in the F150's, Audiophile units provide individual tweeters in addition to the single cone speakers. The seperate tweeters are located at the top of the door. Non Audiophile units only have single speakers in the front doors with no subwoofer.
Heres the response from Visteon who designed the systems for Ford:
In response to your inquiry concerning Boston Acoustic Speakers installed in an audiophile sound system for "04" & "05"* F150 trucks ; These speakers are not a part of an O.E.* Audiophile sound package in these vehicles.

I'm not sure what the differences are, but I can tell you the audiophile system in my truck sounds worlds better than the GM bose system in my last truck. Worlds and worlds better...I might add. Yeah, that's a lot.
