As for the window deflectors, I have always bought the Ventshades, also called AVS, bought at Advance auto. I perfer the stick on over the in track ones. Had the in track in our Explorer and they always squeaked against the window.
Bug shields, I bought the Ford, low profile. looks real good and steardy.
I would have to disagree. I have always used the in channel visors. I actually just ordered a new set for my F-150 from http://www.svcustoms.com and they were only $50. They look nicer and by having it inside the channels, you dont risk the chance of ruining your paint.
I bought the brand Ford oems. They are probably the AVS units. I have seen nothing but problems from those in track units. Your paint will not be ruined by using the adhesive units. Here is a poor picture of the units on my 06
Thanks for the replies...and keep them coming! I like the idea of the slide in ones cause I do not want to ruin the paint but, if the slide in ones have problems then I don't want that. Looks like the Lund slide in ones are nice but, they only offer a 2 piece set.
Oh and I have 05 F150 Super cab. I probably should have noted that.
i have the vent shade kind but for the hood i would go with the one from ford some were having problems with the other brands on the hood. i had the one from ford on the hood like it a lot but got a new ram air hood never put it back on. did not look that good with the ram air

I did exactly the same thing and have had no problem at all.
I've used both. Tape on tend to fail over time here in Florida; sticky tape doesn't like heat & humidity. On my 05 I actually tried two in channel type and I can say avoid a brand called EGR. The installation method was poor and the flange that inserts in the channel is very thick and interfered with proper window closing. The best type I've found is http://www.weathertech.com/ they are well made and I've used them on a 00 F150 and now the 05 F150 with great results. They can be hard to find locally and in my case the accessory guy I know took back the EGR and ordered the Weathertech ones for me.
Good Luck!

Thanks! I really like those...that might be what I go with!
I have the the in channel AVS deflectors and have had no problem. Just follow the instructions and make sure the clips are in good and tight. For the hood, I went with the Ford version; I like the F150 logo on it and simple installation if you just loosen the grille instead of removing it per the instructions.
I have window vent shades on my F-150 ext. cab. They are the in-channel version and although they were stuck in very tight at first and squeaked against the window when rolling them up, that has mostly went away after they have broke in and are set in good place. I just think the in-channel vent shades give off more of a clean look than that of the stick on kind.
Link is not working but, maybe you can tell me what you used to search? Maybe I can use that too..to find it. Cause I can ot find the AVS in channel ones right now.
