A little bummed
Second thing I noticed is the tire's. I spent the extra 250.00 for the B.F Goodrich All Terrain tires. When I looked at the truck it had the BFG Rugged Trail. I said those aren't the tires I ordered. The dealer said that is what Ford calls the all terrain tire.
Now I was not able to look at one on the lot since I was overseas I did all my research over Ford Direct and some brochures my wife sent over. When you go to the BFG web site and look up BFG All Terrain tire it shows that tire not the rugged trail, When you call a tire company and ask for a price on a BFG all terrain tire they dont quote you the price for the rugged trail tire. So how is Ford getting away with this false advertising ??
I'm eating the extra cost of the hitch because it doesn't say any where that the hitch is included but the tires have me ticked and as of right now have not yet picked up my truck. They either have to get the tires I ordered or take off some of the $250.00.
Has anyone else had any of these surprises ??
I too ordered the All Terrain tires on my '06 Dually. I don't know if they put different tires on the duallies than the SRW, but they do look a little wimpy for being "All Terrain." I still love my truck though and they still beat the crap out of those stupid Conti's.
I feel for you but here is Fords deal on tires. And the Dealer has no control over the brand or model of tire ford puts on the truck.
Ford uses several types of tires and suppliers. All their brochure says is "All Terrain" tires. This is a very broad statement. Go to Tire Rack. com and type in All Terrain tires and see what come up. Rugged trails are considered to be an All Terrain type of tire. The Ford brochure does not specify a Brand and specific Model of tire. The brochure just says All Terrain tire.
As far has the hitch goes you can get an after market receiver hitch for a lot less money than the Ford hitch, and Ford doesn't make there hitch they buy from an outside vendor. I have a Putnam XDR and paid less than Fords original $175 (I paid $140).
Also just like to say thank you for serving in the military and protecting our freedoms.

You're right you usually don't know what kind of tire your going to get when you order a truck. I don't think it specified what tire was going to come on my 150 with the off road package.(although I was very happy with the AT/S)
What got me ticked is they say in the brochure (and on Ford Direct online) that it is the B.F. Goodrich All Terrain tire. I thought I was ordering that tire specifically as an upgrade since it was a $250 option. If they would not have specifically said BFG then I would have understood it was a crap shoot on what you get.
I'm not ticked at the dealer, he's been great through this whole thing. I'm ticked at Ford for the way they word the brochures and their internet site.
I'll keep you posted as the battle continues!! I'm trying to hold firm on this one.

As far as the tire thing- crud, we've beaten that one to death for almost two years now. The hard thing is to find a load-rated 18" tire that actually has off-road tread.
Ford Trucks for Ford Truck Enthusiasts
The tow command on my truck did come wired for the 7 pin and the 4 pin and the wire harness was wire-tied up by the spare. The connector block was in the compartment in the back and just plugs in.
Just to give everyone an update, I paid for the price of the hitch, and got half the money for the tires kicked back. A buddy of mine owns a tire place and is trading the Rugged Trail for the real BFG All-Terrain tires ($150 additional). I saw the new tires -- they're nice (285/70-17) so only $25 dollars more.
I'll be picking the truck up tomorrow and getting the new tires on Monday --I'll post a pic when it's ready.
Thanks to everyone on this site; all the info that's on here really helped. Hopefully from my experience people now know- the tow command package doesn't include the hitch, and the B.F. Goodrich All-Terrain tires are really the Rugged Trail tires.
