Mileage. You have to realize that your mileage will vary... also, that Jody tuned his Econo mode (+80hp) to achieve the best economy when cruising on the highway. He told me that in town, you are likely to get better mileage with the lower "tow" setting.

What mileage did I gain? Well, my average mileage (lately about 90% or more in town) didn't change up or down - despite LOVING the feel of the engine torque. So mileage must actually be better than it was. On the highway - well, I haven't gone anywhere, so I don't know.

Have fun - I known I did!!

PS - three words of advice before you chip it - gauges, gauges, gautes. The 120hp mode doesn't cause the EGT to rise as quickly (on my truck) as the Evo tuner did on the 80 or 100hp settings, but it rises VERY quickly and you have to keep an eye on it.

With a chip how high is to high for the EGT's, when do you need to start getting worried?

You can get away with it for a short while. Just remember that you are exceeding the melting point of aluminum. The heat has to be absorbed by the pistons before they melt, so that will take some time.

Probably depends on outside temps. The metal engine parts will take awhile to start heat sinking that 1250 exhaust gas temp.

Not long. The heat absorbtion can soak into the alluminum piston fairly quick. If your looking for a finite amount of time to be called out to you, your not going to get that. But, I will say this...if my EGT's were higher than acceptable and I was not mid drag race, or mid truck pull...I would be looking for a way to back out of her and bring things back in check. 20-40 seconds......then you better be panicking......alot.
