Acutally, i don't watch many TV shows, got a lot better things to do, although my high blood pressure is wanting to put me to sleep today.....stupid doc gave me meds for a cold and they raised my blood pressure...lol
I guess i don't really worry about being all that macho, my gf/wife is happy with me the way i am, i don't need to impress anyone to make her happy. She once wanted to steal my truck before we went out but now she just wants me with it..lol.. we liked to joke about that type of stuff. She loves my truck for what it is and loves the style of it. Machoness is not important to her for she loves me for who i am.
You're a lucky man, if not macho. I think that macho just happens to some guys (and some female neighbors of mine) without trying to impress anyone. A guy who's not macho but trying to appear as such is a poser which doesn't seem very macho.
I guess I'm macho in some ways but not others. I kinda wish I was more macho sometimes but I don't do anything about it, and it would probably just irritate the wife unit and who needs that really.
The neighbor's truck is older than both of mine put together, her Harley is older, she has more tools than me and she does more home and auto repair than I do... She's more macho than I am! You can tell though that she's not even trying. I wouldn't even dream of competing with that.
So I takes my macho points where I can gets 'em - I just try not to emphasize the negative macho points (having cats -10, being a vegetarian -25, or trading in my 20 oz. claw hammer and framing square for a keyboard and mouse -40)
How about points for dirt bikes in the back of the truck. You can take away points because I was riding over my capabilities during a Grand Prix and broke my arm. But I should get some points for staying at the races for the rest of the weekend so my buddies wouldn't have to leave too( I drove). Definite points for driving around Southern CA with broken air conditioning in an 88 F250 for 10 years and power windows that have a mind of their own.
Just be yourself is what it's all about, if you are being macho, then i guess more power to ya. I'm glad i found someone as special as Brittany is, she loves me with her whole heart, and she loves my truck, and well, she ain't afraid to get in and work on something either, she just wishes she woulda been there to help tear apart that one 302, and laugh at the things i done and some of the expressions that were on my face.
How redneck is it to have 2 V-8's in the back of your truck with headers on the seat and other misc. parts including crank, cam and heads. I also have headers laying on the floor of my bedroom in front of a Edelbrock Intake 289 with a Holley 650 Double Pumper on top. BTW, my truck does not have AC, it just has what we call drive faster so the air is colder cooling.
Extra points for having your door sills bashed up by boulders. More for not bothering to replace the busted out glass just because it's winter. Points for having floor panels that drain well. More yet for scrapes that run the entire length of the truck. A bonus for accurately correcting mismatched diff ratios by tire size. Plus points for straightening your roof with a come-along in the field. And double points for having more off-road miles on your truck than on road.
