'00 EB Questions
I have noticed my gas mileage decreased dramatically over the last few months, I recently changed the air filter and it went from 10 to 10.6mpg on the overhead. It has 85K on it and i bought it at 39K three years ago, I recall getting anywhere from 13-16mpg at one point. Other posts here state that a tune up may help. Can anyone tell me what all a tuneup involves so I know what I'm paying for, also would you recommend going to the dealer for this or taking it to a Merchant's/Midas, etc.?
Second question, I recently took my after factory rims off for the winter and i noticed a shudder in take off and stopping the first time i drove it with the stock wheels back on. Also, i noticed a squeaking sound from the front end, mainly the drivers side. Don't know what to make of that.

Did you try resetting the overhead computer? Press both buttons at same time when you are at a dead stop and see if the average mileage changes. You can also try this at speed, you will see it swing all the way up and all the way down, oscillating hi and lo readings until it settles on the average, based upon what it reads from the engine computer. You might see a different set of values.
