need more power

hey guys and gals i just aquired a 1995 f150 with the 5.0 i havent touched it yet but there is no romp and stomp in it. how can i free up those ponies and let em run cheap and easy im getting a flowmaster exhaust and maybe some headers here shortly what else can i do. thanks

headers and replacing the exhaust from that point back is a great starting point. the stock manifolds and Y pipe are the bottle neck for sure. i would assume its mass air right. so a cam upgrade and a intake upgrade would really help as well. is this a 2wd or 4wd truck?

2wd i cant go to expensive with 3kids but i wouldnt mind putting some money in for that extra push what kind of intake do you suggest just an air flow up grade or fuel intake aswell thanks for your help

well first get your exhaust done. any shop can build you a nice setup for under $400 easy. once the motor is breathing out good then think about intake. the K&N fipk II is nice but you can build your own cheaper . any mustang 5.0 upper/lower efi intake would work as well. check ebay and stangnet or corral for those used.
