auto body concerns

i've heard from a couple of auto body places about them training me before college.. im worried that i cant compete with the guys at the shop.. i mean im a pretty good painter from what my dad says but about the regular body work im oworried.. should i be?

I think you can accomplish anything you set your mind to do. Just have a positive attitude and you will be fine.

I'd say go for it. You don't have to "compete with the guys." Just learn the techniques that work best for you and keep on until you get good at it. Good luck.

You'll learn fast that speed is much more important than pefection.

i've gone through the same type of thing. before i started school here in january i was welding. well when i started there i didn't know if i would be able to cut it. wasn't a problem. just don't worry about the other people and just do your thing. everything will turn out alright .

thats not true with this place. they work on cars that are very rare and very expensive.. he had one car there yesterday that was one of 30 left in the world...

Don't try to compete with "the guys". Figure out what you're best at and like doing and then kick *** doing it.

Time is still money darlin'. You still have to do good work in most any body shop, but your worth to your employer is always based on how much money you can make for them. You won't be expected to keep up at first, and you have the advantage of being a girl ( that being it brings out the damsel in distress mode in us guys, they will be more willing to give up their secrets and help you along, just like here in this thread). But the big secret, I think, to doing anything good and fast is focus.

I am curious, what kind of car was it? Also if you can get in a body shop like that, with little to no training, I would jump at that chance!!!
