4x4 steering column u joint

4x4 steering column u joint
I was putting a cab on my 73 150 4x4 and broke a cap on the u joint in the steering shaft. The u joint is "staked" in. Do I just grind the stakes out to replace it, or do I have to find another shaft? If I can replace it will the new u joint have clips or will I have to stake it back in? Thanks in advance for any help.
