OK i have a np205 and the front driveshaft spins when in 2 high hubs unlocked but only about 1/3 of the rear drive shaft speed. i tied a peice of twine between the u joint and my frame and it did'nt break the twine by spinning, until i put it in 4wheel that is. the engagement of everything works great, no sticking or binding and the truck has lower miles, i did check this when it was not warmed up but i can not imagine that changing too much after the lube warms up. just wondering if anyone has had this problem or has any ideas?
its noraml, as the oil gets hotter, it will spin slower and slower....i like it because you dont have to wrry about the front gears corroding due to not being lubed.....keeps everything oiled
its the slip joint that is worn out and i don't want to replace it until i get a lift, right on though fishmann on the 1410, another future mod $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
Yeah, try taking care of greasing it up before you go spending money on rebuilding/replacing the shaft. Especially if you are going to be modifying, you'll probably have to have the shaft modified later agian which is more money. I'm looking at probably having to do this on mine... =(
