I've had the best luck with that spray n wash pre-treat stuff on work clothes, even the deep oil stains, just soak the stain, let it sit, then wash. Works great you would never know they've been greasy.
too funny i did the same thing awhile ago and my wife went nuts!
I tossed a bunch of rags in the washing machine that were covered in GEAR OIL of all things. Not only did it stink up the laundry room and ruin a set of good clothes, but in the end i ended up tossing the rags anyhow because they all stunk of gear oil and were useless.
Since then i have been granted "permission" to purchase shop rags whenever i want. My wife now "inspects" my shop rags before allowing them to go into the washing machine. I can't complain, shop rags are cheap at the store and my garbage can that stores them is now full of new ones.
My auto mechanic bud has red shop towels delivered, I get a slug from him now and then. We buy paper towels by the CASE and in the wood stove they go. I put up about 6 paper towel holders in the shop so they are in easy each.
I'm all about the red shop rags. But for cleaning off a part I just use cheap paper towels mounted in the middle of the barn. No other chemicals or whatever on there, and no lint left behind.
