I dont know brands, but the better ones will have a traction cleat welded onto the chain part that contacts the road.

the one's from schucks seem decent, I'm sure there's better out there, but truck chains run about 70$ a pair. I know schuck's doesnt sell em for truck sizes, but I'd avoid cables for sure. They're easier to put on, but theyre junky for sure.

If you are going to have significant weight on the trailer, it might not be a bad idea. Coming down the mountain from hunting, we sometimes chain up the trailer to keep it from sliding past you on the steep parts. I doubt the roads will as steep though. Maybe buy them someplace that has stores up here too, if you dont use them, you may be able to return them for a refund

I've popped a link a couple times with this style tire chain and had to reweld them.
they are fine for a unloaded truck but if you have a load, are in mud, or crawling out of a farm field/irrigation ditch, these are not the style you want.

If you are gonna be chaining up, use a drag chain (chain on the trailer). No point in chaining up if your trailer beats you to the bottom of the hill. I suppose you could just pick it up when you get to the bottom..........

Yeah, chains on your truck go on the power wheels. Never make it up the hill if you don't........

That reminds me, I saw a guy chaining up his civic going up to Crystal one time. He was putting the chains on the rear, what a douche.
