E350 Towing Capacity
I read the specs on the E350 Van. The tow rating for the V10 w/4:10 and the PSD w/4:10 are identical that is 10k. I have heard that the diesel is detuned. Has anyone heard this? If it is, how much is it reduced. I have a trailer that weighs 11.5 K. I was thinking that the diesel would have enough power to handle it but can not get any specs. Thanks. Rich

The 6.0L diesel in the van is 235hp and 440 lb-ft of torque. There are many rumors as to why it is less power. The one that makes sense to me is that in the tight package of the van it isn't possible to cool more power than that.
I think the tow rating is limited to 10k pounds because that is all the factory hitch is rated to tow.
