Help, clutch wows

Hey guys, gonna try to reword from my other post.

The clutch bar, (transfers pedal movment to fork) The return spring connects to the fork and ...........Where?

Also is there supposed to be washers or spacers where the bar connects to the motor and frame?

I have a 64 with a 262 motor.

I can upload pictures if it would help.

I have a '63 223. There is a tab for the return spring formed as a part of the steering box side cover.

It's been a while, but I know that there is at least a thick felt washer on each side of the equalizer bar at the engine side and the frame side. Not sure about any metal washers.

Thanks John, steering box is not installed. Felt washers would explain why I don't remember anything there. I think I am the only person to remove this assembly since first assembly.
