Went wheeling today, sad day for shocker

Well I was bored and my club had a trail run so Why not go. Well the carnage pictures are below. More to come later this week when I tear it down. The trail started off good, then a F350 and a dodge power wagon got stuck on the hill while going up. After 2 hrs of getting them back down it was my turn.

Have way up is a bolder in the trail, hang left and no problem, Thats where my problem started. I made it past the bolder but my foot slipped off the gas and I lost my speed, Shifted down and started to go "BANG" sounded like a damn shot gun in the truck. Passenger side hub exploded, Then as I was pulled up the hill the throw out bearing went south, now I am locked in first gear, then there was the tree it came from now where and took the passenger side rear flare off. Well finally hit some level solid grond and decided that maybe if we swap my good hub over to the other side I could have 3 wheel drive to get back out. While jacking up truck it slide in to a tree and dented the driver fender and craked the flare. Well the hub was swapped and worked for 0.004 seconds, another "BANG" and metal and fluid started running out of diff. Finally got me up the hill and I had to turn around and go back the way we had come. Then another damn tree ran out and hit the bed this time caving it in. got the darn truck in first and started down I went no problem untill we got to the end (the begin trail) had to be pulled up it darn ground had thawed and it was slick. So here are the current pictures of shocker. Girl firend not even talking ot me now I hurt her baby. BUt all said I had a great time and would do it again tomorrow if the truck was fixed. Took about 2 hours to get me up and turned around.

Time for upgrades, motor is smoking a little now so it will be gone through, solid axles coming soon, time to get off my butt and get them bought. Next break from school and I will start working on it.

Here is a link to more pictures of everyone

Well, atleast you had fun. All I can say is when you do it you go all out. I guess that's how it goes, break it and then fix it better than it was.

Yes I do, I give up on the bed, thats the same spot i dented last time I got tangled up. On a good note, a club member called me and has a full size 79 bronco that he will sell to me for $100. IT has been rolled and the tanny is out of it. He said the motor runs and the axles are good. The 9" is welded and they have 4:10 gears. Going to look at it tomorrow after class. Things looking better. Now if the little lady will get unupset about I be doing good. lol

Well the locker may not be destroyed. Pulled out the shaft and the splines are totally stripped. May just need new axle shafts. Think the solid axles will still go under shocker and the lift and axles under it now will go under the bronco ii project. Just need to find the time to get it all done so I can destroy it again

Did you not build it for off-road use (no tags)? Thats using it correctly then. Body and mechanical damage are a part of the game.
