I recently ran into a problem with the dual tanks on my 1988 f150 4x2. I've always ran everything off the front tank. I went out the other night to pick up some break fluid when the truck started to stall(around 40mph). I let go of the gas pedal and it went away. I got to my destination and it died. I was towed home and my dad spent the next day going over everything. He went to the local auto shop(Bennettt auto) and they said the problem was the master fuel pump.
I replaced the pup and it still wouldn't start. Just for kicks, my dad dropped the rear tank to see if the pup was working and it is. I have power to the master pump and the rear pump, pleanty of juice and a full tank of gas - did I overlook something? I'm at my wits end.

What do you mean that you have "pleanty of juice"?
Power at the Pump or Battery Voltage?
Check your fuel pressure at the schrader valve. Haynes manual has detailed instructions that are easy to follow. The test kit is about $35 at Autozone, not sure if there is a cheaper way or a rental tool!
