EBPV doesn't dump boost it just restricts exhaust flow which slows down the turbine. The wastegate dumps drive pressure from the exhaust stream which
drops turbo compression.
Your Truck may have a boot leak. Check for leaking oil(ccv oil) around the intercooler boots.
