Right now there is not much you can do for headers. No one makes a set for that application. Hooker used to, but have discontinued them.
I used Sanderson street rod (shorty/block hugger) headers on my 78 Qvan. I had to trim the right motor mount a little, and I wrapped the starter in a heat shield blanket, but so far so good.
I don't know if I will keep them or not, I have a LH hooker for the Qvan, and a RH hedman that I may put on so I can get the long tube.
You *may* be able to find the headers on ebay, but they don't show up often.
I just ordered Sandersons FF461. The right header angles back and slightly down, I don't see how it could possibly interfere with motor mount. Do you have FF460 or FF461?
If I had long tubes, I'd sure put them on. If you decide to sell yours, keep me in mind.
I am not sure which model I have. They were given to me as a 460 ford block hugger. They do that well. Of course, about a month after I mounted them and fabbed up an exhaust, I found the long tubes.
I have those on mine. Just take a pipe about the same size as the oulet and stick it in the end and give it a push. You can tweak them out just enough that they will clear. I'll send you a pic if you want.
The Sanderson 461's do not fit, I am returning them.
I have ordered another set of the hedman's uncoated for modification purposes and a set of the thorley Tri-Ys. I figured modifying two tubes on the thorleys would be easier than four tubes on the hedmans.
