I have a 97 F-150 5.4 Triton and this is the first time Ive gotten around to changing the oil in it. I just bought 6 quarts of Quaker State. How many quarts do I need to put in? Thanks I know its a stupid question.
It takes 6.5 qts. But I wouldn't use Quaker state. same thing with pennsoil. I'v heard nothing bad with those two oils. And I'v been dealing with oil for a long time. and talk to alot of people about it. If you got the old 5.4 it calls for 5w30 and I would use Mobile 1 If it's the new 5.4 deffently go with Amsoil 5W20. If you don't want to fork out the money go with mobil or valvaline
they are. Quaker state , Pennzoil oil and Shell are all part of SOPUS. Then you have Castrol which does not make oil but blends it and puts it in pretty bottles. They all meet the same API spec.
my 02 5.4 4x4 says 6 but i put 6 in and dipstick still says im half qt low , not to mention i burn a half qt every 3k, so last few ive put in 6.5 qts and come to change its right on so i say put in 6.5 qts......i also run durablend 5w-20
