Remote lock & Starter

Hey I have read a couple post about this but I was wondering how many of you have a remote starter and how has it worked for you? Also, what will I be looking at as far as cost wise to have someone install it? I have a 96 Bronco

Thumbs up

If you get one, go with a Clifford or Viper, or other high quality one. The cheaper one work, but their range is terrible. Whats the point of having a remote starter if you can't start it from inside? Don't know about installation, I did mine myself, and it wasn't very hard. Yours should have the factory keyless though, and will probably require an extra relay (no big deal) to disable it.

I have a 92 and i put mine in piece by piece, started with the alarm with the keyless entry, then added the remote start. I bought mine from cructchfield and it was very simple to install, unfortunately they dont sell them anymore, but mine works great. A couple of relays had to be used for the locks, and finding places to mount them can be tough, cause wiring and space are both issues, i put my relays on the rail behind my glove box and everything else in the space underneath my steering column, and ran the remote wire up the the trim around the gauges, and it works from about 200 feet no problem

i agree with masseysbronco on brand i have friends with other brands and they a junk compared to my clifford (same thing as viper). installing it depends on your skills, how much you know about wiring, and where you buy it from. most stores you buy them the price includes basic install you only have to pay extra if you have a factory system they need to bypass

I installed a very nice Viper alarm/remote start in my 1990 bronco. Have not hooked up the keyless entry because I needed a seperate relay block for that and not it is too cold. Just make sure to study the wiring diagram for you bronco before cutting wires.
