Engine missing .....?
Before I get into the problem, just wanted to say happy new year to all the FTE people. Its been a while since I've posted or been here. I had a lot of TSB work done on my truck that I"m going to list and then get to the new problem.
I seem to have gotten a truck that I could have lemon lawed with no problem, but the problem is.... when its running right its a freaking awesome truck.
My 2004 F150 has had the upper AND lower control arms replaced, rotors and brakepads in the front replaced, emergency brake cables replaced, rear rotors replaces, clutch packs, CD changer replaced, a frame dampner installed (which only minimized the shimmy not eliminated it), and with only 21,000 miles on the truck, my tires are completely bald. And yes I rotate them every 5000 miles, but i attribute the rapid wear to the fact they are ****ty tires and I've had this damn frame shimmy since day one. And since it only happened either at highway speeds or during braking, it was something I chose to live with. Its now getting worse again.
The new problem is, that now when accelerating while the vehicle is cold, at about 50 to 60 mph right after the 2nd to 3rd shift the things starts to buck like its misfiring. Once the truck warms up, it does it about 70 -75 mph. OR anytime I have to accelerate and it kicks down to 2nd and then shifts back up to third. I'm pretty sure its not the shift that i'm feeling. cause you can see the rpms drop and then shortly after it acts like its starving for fuel. Then after it hiccups a few times it sorts itself out and then acts normally. I thought maybe I got some bad gas, but its been happening now through 3 tankfulls of different brand gas (mobil, exxon, and Arco), and I've even taken to adding octane boost to see if that would help. It didn't.
Has anyone else experienced this. When my truck was in the shop in august getting all the upper and lower control arms done, the technician asked if i was having any engine problems. I looked at him and said "dude you're kidding right, i'm here for this and your telling me i'm going to have more problems?" Well i guess he was right.
I can't find any TSB's describing this problem, but see a thread about slipping transmission. I"m ALMOST positive thats not the problem i'm having, but then again I could be wrong.
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. The dealer has had my truck a total of 21 days in the 1.5 years i've owned it. If they have to take it for an extended period again, they are going to end up keeping it cause I'm going to lemon law it.
Thanks in advance

What on earth could a truck with only 21,000 miles on it have as far as emissions problems?
thanks

the engine light is on all the time now. I'm bringing the truck in Monday. I don't have an appointment, I'm just going to go bitch at the service manager till he gives me a rental (oh yeah the dealership I got the truck from says their policy is no more rentals since Ford Corporate doesn't reimburse them for it).
I've already called a Lawyer who specializes in Lemon Law. I have a buddy that I play softball with who works at a different ford dealership in San Diego. He says Ford's going to fight me tooth and nail to not take it back, cause of all the buy backs they have had to do with the Diesel F250's and F350's.
This could get ugly. But I'd be happy if they just got all the stupid problems fixed and gave me the truck that I should have gotten when I put down nearly 40 grand for a truck.
Suddenly, I'm not so sure I'm going to stay a Ford man.
