I drive a 2004 Diesel F350. I am towing a 3 horse trailer with living qtrs. The fuse for the charging system keeps blowing. It is a 20 amp fuse and I am told that Chevy and GMC use a 40 amp fuse. The trailer dealer is now evaluating the trailer for me to see if something is wrong with it. Any ideas anyone? Does anyone else tow a big trailer successfully?
i wonder if the problem could be that the battery in the trailer is so low on charge that it is try to use more than 20 amps to recharge it's self. before you try a larger fuse size make sure that the wiring is heavy enough to handle the load.
