Hey again. One more question, well, for now....
The carpeted kick panels and door trim panels in my '66 are badly faded but otherwise in great shape. Is there a paint of some kind for these that won't make them brittle?
Thanks again,
Ridin
You would really need a dye for carpet, but I guess you could try a vinyl spray like is found at a shoe shop, and brush it real good after it drys. Or you could get the dye and use a refilable arasol spry can ( if you don't have air) like they sell at harbor freight for about $5 bucks.
I have a compressor and nice paint gun - so that's somethething I can shoot then right? is harbor freight an online or local store (never heard of it is all). I suppose that dye wont make it stiff?
Thanks again...
Find some Ritz dye that matches the color of your carpet. Mix some in a plastic spray bottle and spray it on. Rub it in with a brush or towel to get even coverage. Used car lots (and I) have used this trick for years. It works pretty well.
It has been a while since I have bought any, but it used to be available at the supermarket. It is the same stuff your wife would use to dye some fabric.
I never woulda thought it - but the wife actually knew what you are talking about and said it would be a piece of cake. Hmm. (She aint exactly June Cleaver, ya see....).
'Preciate the info, will let you know how it turns out.
