rear tailgate won't open
I have a 1995 aerostar van, and the outside handle for the lift gate wont work i went inside and looked for a inside latch or reliese nothing. The latch is free, like nothing hooked up. How do i get to open to make repairs??

if you can take off the back hatch panel enough there is a rod inside that you can push down to open your latch. to repair the handle you have to put the end of that rod into the handle. good luck

after reattaching the actuator rod, lube with spray lithium grease all the moving contacts in handle release and lock mech...
attach a small nylon rope to bottom latch acutator and bring out thru pull strap hole...tie a handle in end to use as inside hand pull opener
