new for PSD

I love the guy to death, but I gotta laugh, my boss just refuses to see the truth. But I do have a new name for his 6.0 PSD, ready ?

"Personal Stranding Device"

3 days ago he's told the injectors were bad, $1200 later he driving to work, well trying to drive to work. 5:10 AM sitting in the left lane of the freeway, the shop now says the batteries are bad, the alternators are bad, it's unreal. And it's time after time after time. A new turbo, a new turbo housing, a this, a that all in the last 6 months. The bad thing is he's now so frustrated that he's looking at a chebbie. I keep saying "V10 Ford, V10 Ford, V10 Ford". "At least DRIVE one before you decide on something". But it may be too late.

uh, I dun theenk so,,,he's definitely looking at the 'gas' models. He's pretty well fried on Fords now. But the ONLY problem he's ever had (and there have been ALOT of them), are with the engine. I'm begging him to just test drive a V10, he has to be at the Ford store anyway to pick up his PSD, so why not ? He's pretty angry, I can't say as though I blame him, 67,000 miles and it runs almost every other day.

Oops...

He'll be hard-pressed to ever return if that's the case. I can't say I'd fault him, myself...BUT...even if he gets the 6.0 chevy gas engine, he'll still not know what he's lost in the V10... That, my friend, is the problem, though, ain't it?

This is a great post and my 7.3 diesels were PSDs............Power Stroke Diesels

My 04 6.0 was just as you say Ken, a Personal Stranding Device

I too almost went to the max pad and the comeapart but after driving both I decided to stick with Ford and try a V10. Fredvon's posts helped me decide. This was a great choice and one I might keep for a long time. The last good choice I made was 36 years ago when I married Donna so I like to stick with a winner. Take care, Don.

Every day I'm even more thankful the guys on this site convinced me to go with the V10. I'd have been really ticked off if I spent all that money for a personal standing device!

so Big, I'm telling my boss to go drive a new V10, hell he spends a couple days a week at the dealership anyway, what could it hurt ? So I tell him, and tell him, then tell him again (I am a salesman). So 2 days ago, he has his best friend haul him up to the dealership to pick up his (supposedly) fixed PSD. Of course it won't run, so his buddy says "well let's go over and drive that V10 Ken told you about while they see if they can get your truck running". A half hour later, you will never believe this, but it's all true, half an hour later,,,

HIS BEST FRIEND DRIVES HOME THE 2006 V10 !!! And he gives my boss a ride home because the cam sensor is kaput and the PSD has to stay to get fixed !!!

Truth, is indeed, stranger than fiction sometimes.

Ok guys I gotta know I had a 85 and a 95 ford Diesel & had some problems with glow plugs mostly but no major stuff -- Are these 6.0 engine problems Ford caused by tinkering or are they from the manufacture of the engine???

Well, looks like diesel talk is fair game on the V-10 forum. My brand new 2006 F-350 PSD 4X4 6-spd DRW arived yesterday. I made it all the way without blowing a head gasket or having to stop for fuel.

only when it belongs to one of our bosses and always breaks down every other day. youl be fine as long as you don't lift it, retune it, drive it as it came to you.STOCK. then they stay together for a while. good luck with it brad.

Sure it is, welcome to our little corner of the world. Most of us here are either ex-diesel owners, or own both gas and diesel. A Ford truck IS a Ford truck after all right ?

You'll find here that unlike some 'other forums' we don't bash people who have different opinions than we do. So feel free to jump in to any thread and discuss our favorite engine, the 6.8 liter V10. Don't take any sarcasm to heart, we're just a bunch of big kids, with BSEG's.

I went through the painful process of deciding between the V10 and the 6.0. I drove a V10 6-spd. Very nice motor, lots of power, very smooth. Ultimately, I went with the 6.0, but it was a very close call for me. I must have gone back and forth on the motor decision 6 or 8 times.
