On my 54 f100 with a y block. can any one tell me what orginally would have been the upper raditor hose? was it one pieace? or two with kind of a pieace of exh pipe? aslo any pictures? and if it had the pipe does anyone know of any desent -good reproductions? thanks
It had a hose coming out of the radiator to a pipe elbow into another hose to the engine block. Look in my gallery for the pipe on my '54. I knew a guy that got an old rusty one in a junk yard and had a radiator shop bend one for him. I saw one on ebay a few weeks ago.
You might have luck using one of those "flexible" radiator hoses from NAPA, or wherever. I've used those on occasion and have never had any issues with them. I'm running one in my '53 with the 410 in there now, actually.
I've seen several people going with the two end hoses and the metal pipe in between. Most of the hot rodders I associate with, measure the distance and the shape of the pipe and go to the local muffler shop and have them bend one from 2" stainless exhaust pipes. You can polish it up and it looks really nice. I like the Stainless hose with end clamps too.

Check the catalogues of places that sell part for these old trucks. I was looking through one of them the other day for some parts for my 55 and saw the set up with the crome center pipe advertised.. I have a stock rubber hose recently purchased from my local independant parts dealer and it seems to work fine.
