Upper Raditor Hose help

Does anybody know where I can buy two upper radiator hoses for my '51 ford f3 V8 flatty? I bought two new radiator pipes the other day, original look and made of steel, but I don't like the look of them. I'm just trying to find a one piece black rubber hose that is the correct length and has the correct angles to go from the radiator to the water neck. I've seen them on other flatheads but I can't find where to buy new ones.

Thanks.

I've never seen a formed hose that is angled. A lot of people went with the corrugated universal flex hoses, my truck came with those and I used them up until about 3 months ago. I'd give you the length and P/N but I'm not sure an F-3 radiator is the same height and all.

I believe that you can use the flexible hoses Ross pictured, but the other application was to have two solid metal tubes curved on both ends, connected top and bottom with two short pieces of hose.

Like this:

Those meatl tubes are sold at the Resto Parts places. Here's a link to LMCs page. It's the center diagram, item #3.

Thanks Julie for the input and picture. I do have the same metal tubes you have but I'm not sure I like the look. Did you have to cut the short pieces of hose to fit or were you able to buy the correct length?

Thanks everyone for your help. It sounds like my two options are the metal tubes or the flex tubing. I'll take a picture of the one piece solid rubber hose when I go back to work on my truck since it sounds like it's pretty rare. Probably next week sometime.

Actually I just stole that picture. I have a different engine arrangement in my truck. I think they sell th eupper and lower hoses pre-cut to fit.

Also, they sell thsoe tubes in chrome and I think stainless steel. But you have to search around for the stainless.

Mac' and about everyone carries the one piece molded long upper hoses for the cars. I bought one last year for my 46 merc. Not sure how close in size the car one would be but might worth checking. So many times a part guy will say that don't fit but be a 1/2" to long or short.
Just a thought

Thanks for the idea. I'll do some checking and see if something like that is possible.

I didn't like the stock pipes either. I wanted SS, so I made my own.[/IMG]

Nice! I've looked for SS in the past but haven't found a pair. Speedway has some but not for a '51 truck. I do like that yours go straight out from the radiator and then angle down versus the angle straight out of the radiator like the stock ones.

Flathead 51, check out these guys; Classic Tube: Classic Tube

They have 1.25 SS pipe in differant angles and lengths. With a little research you can find what you need.
