Just did a fluid/filter change on the weekend. While I was in there, I installed a Transgo SK. I drained the TC as well, and filled it back up with Mobil Synth ATF. It shifted nice and crisp for the first couple of days, now it shifts from 1-2 really high up in the RPM range and when it does other than a slight dip in revs there isn't much to indicate a shift. But it shifts into 3rd no problem (driving with OD off in the city). What could be the cause of this problem?
Anyone one? Well guess I'll throw up back on the hoist and take a look. Is it possible the synth I put in is too slippery and the clutch plates are slipping? And worst case scenario is a new trans, what are the best options for a decent transmission?
Mobil 1 synthetic is the right fluid for that trans. I would double check the fluid level, and if that's fine, check that the filter was installed correctly. Either one could cause your problem.
Dropped the pan again tonight, took the accumulator apart and found one of the aluminum valves had some scoring. Fortunatly I had a spare one and replaced it. Cleaned it up and put it back together. Seems to shift fine now, keeping my eye on it until my Sonnax parts show up. Thanks for the help
