panel/bronco hybrid

I want to put a 59 or 60 panel truck on a 78 bronco frame and I was wondering how much b.s. you guys think it will cause me? I am looking for feedback about bodymounts, wheelbase comparison, and overall length of the vehicles(body too long or too short for frame?)

My first question would be why?
Frame transplants are one of the most difficult, time consuming and least likely to be successful mods you can make. No offense, but anyone who has to ask for basic advice about doing one should not attempt it! It is far far easier to transplant the running gear to the stock frame or even do a front and/or rear clip. Do a search here on frame transplants to get a lot of advice on why not to do one.

question-why?....answer-because the only real truck is a 4 wheel drive and panel trucks are a unique 4wd build project.
I have the ability to do mods of this caliber, I was pretty much just wondering if the wheel bases and length would match up?.......I'm just brainstorming for a project.

1Big, the Bronco of the 78-79 era is 106 wb, your panel has a 111 in wb, approx. You would have to streach the frame to fit, alot of work. I bolted a 78 bronco susp in my 54 pu, with no problems. The frame width is the same from 53 to 79. Front axel bolts/welds in with no problems. The front suspension has a set of diminsions that have to stay together, unless you want to cut a new driveshaft. To use the same front driveshaft length, you will have to move the firewall back about 4-5 inches. To get away from that is to extend the trans mount forward and shorten front shaft.
Rear is easy by moving spring perch in approx 2in per side to match frame width. Mine is almost done, from my oppinion, much easer to retain stock frame.

IMHO the ONLY reason to have 4WD is to take it off-road. It would be a shame to tear up a rare body.
